Politicising public office
So Gordon Brown has flown to Iraq. It is topping the news schedules still and has all day. Can you explain just one thing to me, though? Why, oh why does the British taxpayer need to pay for the Chancellor of the Exchequer to visit? Shouldn't the Foreign Secretary or Defence Secretary be a little ahead of him in the queue?
